Reflections Wk3 T2

This is my reading follow up for this week my WALT was  to comprehend what we read it was not to hard and not to easy.  I had to decide what was a fact and what was an opinion.
This is my maths for this week my WALT was solve multiplication problems using doubling and halving.  We had to double the odd number and halve the even number to solve these.

week 9 reflectcion

This is my numeracy follow up my Walt was to use doubling and halving to solve multiplication problems and use knowledge and strategy to solve  problems.  I found this more difficult than the last activity but I got there.

This is my literacy follow up my WALT is comprehend what we read.  This is my water cycle showing my new knowledge.

This is my writing I had to answer Questions, write story starters ,use joining words to help us write and finish story.

reflection week 8

This is one of my numeracy follow up's for this week. My 2 WALTs were to  use multiplication knowledge and strategy to solve problems. I used doubling and halving to solve multiplication problems.

Multiplication Strategy: Doubling and Halving

We can simplify some multiplication problems using doubling and halving.

1. Use the strategy of doubling one factor and halving the other to help simplify and solve the following problems: Example: 5 x 16 = 10 x 8 = 80 or 5 x 16 = 10 x 8 = 20 x 4 = 80

a) 5 x 68 =   340

b) 3 x 16 =  24

c) 16 x 30 =  480

d) 18 x 40 = 180

e) 35 x 20 =  700

f) 25 x 16 = 400

g) 50 x 24 = 120

h) 500 x 28 = 14,000

2. Does this strategy always work?

Explain when the strategy of doubling and halving is useful to simplify a multiplication problem. No if  both numbers are odd numbers but it is helpful
This is what I did for my reading follow up. My WALT  was comprehend what we read.
